class = “Toolset” class = “byline”> Associated Press class = “date”> 22 April 2012 , 18:36 Diego Padres infielder-outfielder Kyle Blanks going to season ending surgery on his left shoulder, the second time he was an important measure to shorten the period.

Blank tore cartilage when swinging a bat. He was once in spring training because of injury but took office in San Diego and played in four games before going on the disabled list April 14 .

25 years old billets had plastic surgery is the right elbow that ended his 2010 season. Blanks is a career .219 average, 20 home runs over parts of four seasons in San Diego.

Blackburn set to return

Minnesota right-hander Nick Blackburn is due to join the Twins’ starting rotation on Tuesday night.

Blackburn seemed to cramp in the back of his right shoulder April 14 against Texas. He threw a 52 – pitch Bullpen Session Sunday.

Blackburn said he did not feel any pain when you throw and do not expect any lingering questions.
